The LS hybrid is almost $50k more than base LS. And $20k more than MB S Class hybrid. Yes option but holy...

Wait, Lexus still builds the LS? Who the hell still buys those?

That particular hybrid LS is the equivalent of a V12 with high efficiency and supposed to be comparable to the S600. So you are actually saving $50,000 while getting extremely high reliability and ridiculous fuel savings for the class. Technically one of the greatest automotive values of this decade.
Plus, they are soooo cheap used!

You are right in theory, but what are the chances that someone would crossshop a V12 Mercedes and a decade old Lexus? I doubt that people who buy those cars new give actually two fucks about savings and reliability. That shit’s for peasants. On the used car market it’s another thing though.

Americans. I see a lot of them.

People are either really convinced about Lexus reliability or the leasing conditions are great.

People are convinced about the reliability, plus they start 20k cheaper than an S-Class. It’s possible the lease conditions are good, I know when I was in high school, my friends parents leased a LS430, that was 10 years ago though.

Must be the Americans, because nobody else does.

After a quick internet search it seems they sell almost none of them in Europe. Here’s the US and here’s Europe , if this source is credible.

I guess the regular LS is a good bargain but the $120k LS hybrid? Not so much.

I agree with that, I’ll be on the lookout for them, I’m in a pretty affluent area so there’s bound to be one or two around here.

I’ve never seen one in person here in Europe.

The biggest problem, really, that the LS 600h L has... is that it doesn’t get any better highway mileage than the LS 460 L AWD (it’s only fair to compare to LWB AWD), and the added weight means it’s barely faster 0-60 - Lexus claims 6.0 seconds for an LS 460 AWD (not distinguishing among the wheelbases), versus 5.5 for an LS 600h L.
However, it gets significantly better city mileage, and the eCVT (albeit a 2-speed one, so there is a noticeable gearshift that you’ll see in LS 600h (as well as GS 450h) top speed runs) will almost certainly be a lot smoother than a 6-speed stepped automatic.
However, I’d have to run through the Lexus configurators side by side to get a comparable trim - I’d guess that it’d cost about $90-100k for a LS 460h L AWD that’s comparable, and is it worth $20k for the improved city mileage, and the better green signalling... of a huge luxobarge that still only gets 23 highway?

Also, I was using outdated transmission and 0-60 info for the LS 460 - it’s 5.9 for an AWD car, and an 8-speed now.

Alright, selecting the most expensive packages and most of the options (executive seating, which comes with most of the rest, really), I got an LS 460 L AWD up to $112,380.
Executive seating is a cheaper option on the LS 600h L, and adds every other option except for the dealer-installed bullshit, and takes it up to $135,470.
So, basically, you’re paying $23,090 for the 5.0 instead of 4.6 V8, and the hybrid system.

I see at least 8 a day around here. They sell very well.

You know what’s even worse ? You could buy one S65 or get three LS460s for the same price . If you option the S65 up your could get two LS600hL for the same price.

It’s a very good car to buy but not to lease IMO.

It's something that will last a lot longer than a S class.

That’s why I would buy one if I were in the market for a luxury car.

Used luxury is the best thing in the world. I bought a used V12 S class and a used LS400 for the combined price of a base model Corolla.

Haha nice! You bought the two most reliable and most unreliable luxury car. You’re my hero.

I'm looking for a cheap Jag XJR too !

Make that wallet burn up!!
You already own a V12 W220, how bad could a V8 supercharged Jag be?
